How many looks do I have to make?
We require a minimum of 8 and a maximum of 10 looks in order to be in the show.
What is included in my $50 deposit?
Your $50 application fee/deposit gets you a Pop-Up spot in one of Downtown Danbury's local shops to sell your wears on July 24th, as well as a slot in Danbury Fashion Week's Runway Show on July 28th, plus tons of exposure to regional press.
Why do I have to pay a deposit and is it refundable?
This deposit ensures your commitment to participation in Danbury Fashion Week and it is non-refundable.
No. Anyone from anywhere can apply!
Do I have to be a resident of Danbury to be considered for the show?
Can I hire a seamstress or production team to make my designs?
No. We are looking to highlight designers who can create a collection from start to finish on their own.
Yes! We love collaborations! So long as you are the one creating your designed pieces. Collaborations can include dying, fabric painting, screen printing, embroidery, knitting, ect. Collaborations do not include pattern making or sewing.
Can I collaborate with other artists as a part of my collection?
No! We will have hair and make up provided the day of the show, unless you would like to provide your own.
Will I have to provide my own hair and make up team?
No and no! We will have a model casting and have a sponsor provide shoes for your models. You can bring your own shoes for your models if you like. If you have a model or several that you would like to use for your collection, let the DFW staff know and we will arrange accordingly.
Will I have to provide my own models and their shoes?
No, this is a ticketed event. Please direct anyone interested in attending to our website to buy tickets!
Is the Fashion Show free?
Nope! Whatever you make during Tuesday's Pop-Up Market is yours to keep! We will provide pre-order forms for those interested in buying a look that will appear in the show.
Do you keep a cut of my sales from the Pop-Up Market?
- July 16th - Designer Walk Through/ Meet and Greet / Model Choreography
- July 23rd - First Dress Rehearsal
- July 27th - Final Dress Rehearsal
- July 28th - Runway Shows
What are the mandatory dates for designers for Danbury Fashion Week?
Yes! We are interested in seeing a wide variety of perspectives, including, but not limited to Women's wear, Men's wear, Children's wear, Evening, wear, ect. So please apply!
